We'll talk again in three or four years, after they're broken in.   ;D

I've had mine for 6 years. They've been through 35,000 miles and and still look and perform great.

Check with Will at Cycleops. He has some amazing custom parts for Vics.

Victory Garage / Re: Louder?

Hey Jack - I have an 05 Vegas with stock pipes, and my wife just bought a new Vegas Low. I thought that my pipes were getting louder over time. And compared to her new bike, they are definitely louder and much mellower.

Yeah, the seat is narrower, the side covers have been slimmed down for shorter legs, and the wiring to the tail light and turn signals are relocated out of harms way from the lowering procedure. My wife and I have been doing a lot of research. Looking for her next ride. We've looked at just about all the cruiser offerings from Japan and Milwaukee, and we haven't found anything that even comes close to the Low in workmanship, fit and finish.

We went to the Chicago Bike show last Month and got a chance to talk with a factory engineer. He said that the main reason we won't be able to use the new cooler on older bikes is that they widened the lower part of the frame on the 08's to make room for it. I'm working with my dad - in - law (a retired toolmaker) on a set of brackets to mount  the new cooler just slightly in front of the frame on my 05. We'll have to give some thought to the oil lines. I'll let you know what we come up with.

I've seen the advertising and have been trying to do a little research on it. I showed the ad to my local Vic dealer. He liked the look but questioned whether it would have enough cooling capacity. He's checking into it for me. If anyone hears anything from Victory, let me know. I'm going to try to get more answers from the manufacturer. If I find out more I'll let you know.

Victory Product Reviews / Oil Cooler Relo Kit
« on: January 06, 2008, 03:21:50 PM »
I am thinking about getting the MBW oil cooler relo kit for my 05 Vegas. The stock cooler really takes away from the overall look of the bike. I haven't had any experience in this area and was hoping someone could give me some information. Is it difficult to install? Does it decrease the cooling ability of the system? Is there a better alternative to the stock cooler?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Took my wife (Carol) to the local dealer the other day and they had a Low on the showroom floor. She is currrently riding a 600 Shadow and has fallen in love with the Low on looks alone. She sat on it in the showroom but,the biggest problem now is the 8" of snow on the ground. It looks like we'll have to wait until Spring to test ride it. :'( . We're going to Phoenix in January. Maybe we can talk a local dealer into a test ride.

One of the best things I saw while I was there was that they have finally done something with that God- awful oil cooler. I have an 05 Cory Ness Vegas. and have always thought of the oil cooler as a pimple on the face of perfection.

Does anyone know if they are going to offer the new oil cooler setup for older models?
