Ugly stock Exhaust bolts and mounts
« on: May 15, 2012, 01:09:38 PM »
Hello folks,

I started riding last year and just bought a 2012 victory kingpin. I absolutely love the power, handling and how comfortable it is on long rides. One thing I don't like is the ugly exposed exhaust stock mounts that are not covered by any chrome. I've tried to find a chrome cover for them but I cant find anything. Has anyone been able to find anything to cover them up?

I found some of those truck lug covers at various sizes at a local truck stop.  Cheap,, chrome,, does the job well. Those bolts you show I don't have a problem with since I have the Vic Performance pipes and they are covered by the pipes, but the bolts on the flanges I used the lug covers and a dab of silicon adhesive. Also got a couple of larger ones for the rear tire axle cover. at about 50 or 60 cents a piece you can't lose. Visit a truckstop, haha.

Buy yourself an Artist Brush and some Black or Silver spray paint, spray the color you want in something and dab the brush in the paint
and change the color.....also get some nail polish remover(acetone) to clean the brush.
I bought some spray chrome paint that I used on those ugly exhaust bolts and inside those allen head bolts when you start to see
rust forming.

I like both ideas so thanks. Perhaps a combo of both ideas will work...paint the bracket and use the truck bolt covers to cover the ugly nuts and bolts. Thanks guys!!

$532 shipped. gets rid of all that and takes a lot of weight off the bike...

I like your pipes but I like the price of a little paint and some bolt covers better :)

Unlike Larry's pipes, paint and bolt covers will do absolutely nothing for your performance.
Any day riding is a good day!

I agree with both of you about getting what you pay for and also about paint and bolts not increasing performance, and I appreciate the feedback. Look at it from my perspective though, I just dished out $15k for the bike and upgraded from a Yamaha 650, which was my first bike. I think the Victory will provide me with more than sufficient power as compared to the 650:)

Thanks again for you opinions

Granted, it's all in your perspective. I freely admit that my perspecive is terribly skewed (even twisted, some may say).

Yes, compared to the V-Star 650... well... now you have 865cc per cylinder... but stock still sucks. Remember: If a lot is good, and even more is even better, then too much is JUST PERFECT!  :D
