Thumbs Up for KMC Powersports
« on: May 06, 2012, 01:49:30 AM »
I rode the bike 4 hours to have Kyle Crandall of KMC Powersports put a tune on it. Kyle and all the guys are cool as hell. We had fun just hanging out with them... but what really impressed me was how talented and knowledgeable Kyle is.

Let me put it this way: The bike has always been abrupt on/off the throttle. Holding a steady speed, like slow through a parking lot, was next to impossible. Fuel mileage has been averaging 38-40 mpg.

On the ride home I got 46 mpg. We got stuck in traffic for a bit and I was cruising at a steady 1800 rpm in 1st or second gear... smoothly! It runs seamlessly and has NEVER run this good. Finally it's TUNED RIGHT.

Would anyone know of a Vic tuner in the Detroit MI area?
Just picked up my first KP in April (and 2004 with 7500 miles), and similar results as H-C here (37-40 MPG, etc).   Wouldn't mine have it tuned in to be totally dialed in.  Came with the stage 1 on it.

You'll need a means to tune it, some sort of fuel controller. The stage 1 is a download to the ECM and is not tunable.

A Power Commander is the best bet for the best results. With that fuel controller, any good dyno tuner can get the job done.
