Topic: Now I need a new rear tire while checking rear brakes!!! (Read 583 times)

Wow!! Now I am going to need a new rear tire, I have an Avon Venom AM42 with a matching front tire which is still very good. Last i read was they no longer make this tire, so what is the best tire to match the front that I can get?? Help I want to get this thing going again as the weather is turning warmer!!

I like Bridgestones.........priced right but low on mileage(rear tire)(7,000 miles max) but I do my own tire changes. The front tire last around two too three rear tire changes.
Around $250 for both front and rear tires ,just buying a rear runs around $130 and that's shipped to your front door......search the net until you find the cheapest price cause some website are asking to much for tires so don't buy at the first site you find mark the site and keep looking until you the best price.

Thanks, the one dealer told me that they are not allowed to put radials back on the Kingpin as they are having problems with the way the tires wear and would only sell me both front and rear bias Dunlaps!!!

Yeah when you deal with a dealer they have to use Mother OEM stuff and their Lawyers make them because of the writen rule of Mother!
It really cost when you don't do your own maintenance.

Screw the dealer! Buy your tires on-line (much better prices) and take them elsewhare to have them installed. Some places will even match on-line tire prices. You find the best price, they have them shipped directly to the install place and charge you what you would have paid online. Call around and talk to places that work on bikes. Also talk to other riders in your area. They will be able to tell you what places to avoid and who is good to go to.
