It shouldn't need instructions, it's too easy but I can get you part of the way....
remove side covers
remove seat(driver)
remove gas tank
take your hand and depress clutch arm and remove cable end
cut plastic tie at holds clutch cable to the frame
remove clutch cable from handle bars
remove air cleaner top and clean thottle body
reverse procredure and then adjust clutch cable end play, leave about 1/8 of an inch travel on the clutch arm at the trans, it may very, the end play that is,but if you're still not sure you can do it have it done by someone who can.
2hrs. tops!

???I have just replaced my cable since the old one snapped in two at the lever. Stupid design any how!!!
I can't seem to get the new cable to pull smoothly. I have pulled the tank off twice and lubed the cable. The vic mechanic in Omaha said to connect it straight outside of the frame and try it. It slides smoother outside the frame, yes. I've put it back in, and same problem. The cluch cable studder stops while slowly squeezing the cable. It's not the clutch, it pulls with a channel lock smooth as a whistle. What technique is used to get this simple damn cable to work smoothly?

Kip,
Grease the cable at the lever and ride it. Mine did the same thing the first day then smoothed right on up.

Mine was "sqeaking" the other day, & I had to put a little lubricant on the clutch handle and the reciever where it goes. I don't know if this will help you, but it did make it quieter, and it pulls more evenly now.

If you guys don't want to be changing out clutch cables. take the cable out of the lever and inspect the hole where the barrel end for the cable does it's work, clean it up, smooth the surface(hole), debur it and grease it everytime you think about it...that barrel should turn with the angle of the cable everytime you pull in the clutch lever and if it's not turning your cable is just so any pulls away before it's broke and that's just the way it is! Even a drop of oil will help!

It is now 2011 and I have 15,000 miles on my bike and the clutch cable went out on the main east west road. This is beginning to be a real problem. For the second time since new, I have been stranded for all to see by the side of the road with my Victory, and in Vic clothing. Two coworkers called me as they were driving by.

Two weeks ago, my clutch cable broke after 36000 miles of use - seemed like a decent cable lifetime. From reading this site, I knew some riders had problems with their clutch cables so I was carrying a Sav-Ur-Ride clutch cable replacement kit - approx $46 shipped to my door.
http://www.savurride.com/
I replaced the cable in about 10 minutes. Really couldn't believe how easy it was to do. Just pull out the old cable and slide the new one in. It gets hung up when passing through the tensioner but wiggling it a bit got it through that. It comes with the lube for the clutch lever barrel. I suggest some teflon spray lube for the cable and using some thread lock on the lower clamp. I have over 1000 miles on the replacement and no problems. I plan to leave it on to see how long it lasts. I ordered a new one and it showed up in about 3 days.
Thanks to whomever posted the savuride link because it really came in handy and is a great product.
